How do I proofread your book? I carry out a line-by-line proofread on Microsoft Word using Track Changes, on Adobe using its editing and commenting tools, or on page using BSI proofreading symbols.
What do I proofread? I systematically proofread all body text, ensuring consistency in spelling, punctuation, spacing and text treatment. Then there are the headings, Contents page, folios, headers and footers, captions, references, bibliography … whatever you need.
What will you receive? The marked-up Word document or PDF, along with my style sheet. This will contain the project details, reference sources, formatting checklist, text treatment and preferred spellings. If relevant there’ll be character and world-building information too.
